Laura ChristiansenLaura Christiansen, CPDT Owner/Director/Trainer
Laura has been working with animals and people for over 25 years. She began as an apprentice instructor/ behavioral counselor at Trainers Academy for Behavioral Sciences in Michigan. Laura taught at the academy for over 5 years before coming out to San Diego to start her own dog training school, Canine Learning Centers. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, The International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the International Association of Canine Professionals. Laura is very familiar with pet nutrition,
has a background in elementary education and taught a dog safety program for children at local schools. She is also the Canine Evaluator for the Pet Therapy Program at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.






Marcia WigdahlMarcia Wigdahl, CPDT Trainer
Marcia has been contract training for Canine Learning Centers since 1992 and teaches puppy, beginner, and brush-up classes. She has trained with many of the finest domestic and international behaviorists and animal trainers. Marcia believes that successfully trained dogs have humans who use calm, clear leadership and good management of the dog's environment and time. Marcia is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the International Association of Canine Professionals. She is a registered Dental Hygienist and a practicing fine artist with a B.A. in Fine Arts painting. She regularly exhibits her work in San Diego.




 

Julie KroonenburgJulie Kroonenburg, CPDT Trainer
Julie began working with animals at a young age. She spent her youth riding and taking care of horses as a member of the United States Pony Club. After college Julie decided to pursue her love for animals by attending America's Teaching Zoo where she earned a degree in exotic animal training and management. Julie has worked with a variety of animal species including lions, bobcats, primates and eagles. As one of our contract instructors Julie enjoys teaching people how to work with and better understand their canine companions.








Donna Young
Donna Young, Volunteer Assistant Trainer
Donna became interested in dog training and behavior when she signed up for a Canine Learning Centers puppy class with Ginger, her seven pound doxypoo. She and Ginger had so much fun that Donna became a Volunteer Trainer Assistant in 1999. Donna has a degree in education and is a talented artist and calligrapher. She is the creator of the 2003 Best Friends calendar and an enthusiastic student of canine behavior.
